New features of the 2016.e version

CYPECAD MEP

EnergyPlusTM (8.4 version) analysis motor update

The 2016.e version of CYPECAD MEP incorporates the latest published version of EnergyPlus™ (version 8.4). This way, users using an operating system that is compatible with this new version (W7 and later versions) can enjoy this more robust and faster version (up to 4 times faster than the 6.0 version) out of all those published by the US Department of Energy (DOE).

Users who do not have a compatible operating system can continue working with the 6.0 analysis motor version.

Thermal analysis for France

Improvements and updates have been implemented in the Thermique tab of CYPECAD MEP for France related with the compliance of the RT 2005, RT Existant and RT 2012 codes.

RT 2012

  • Standardised XML file
    Update of the XML file version of the RT 2012 code: Fiche Standardisée RT 2012, 7100_V1.4
  • Heating, cooling and ventilation systems
    • The introduction of ventilation systems has been improved; panels have been modified for a simpler introduction and geothermal wells can be introduced.
    • More heating and cooling emitters have been added, and their introduction has been improved.
  • Photovoltaic systems
    • Improvements in the introduction of photovoltaic systems (onduleur and capteurs)

RT 2005 and RT Existant

  • Ventilation systems
    The introduction of ventilation systems has been improved and panels have been modified for a simpler introduction.

CYPETHERM HVAC LOADS

As of the 2016.e version of CYPETHERM Suite, CYPETHERM HVAC LOADS incorporates the calculation of the losses reduction factor, “b” of non-occupied precinct, in accordance with the ISO 13789 code. This way, the program allows users to use user-defined values for each type of precinct or apply the implemented calculation.

Furthermore, the properties of each non-occupied precinct can be personalised, so that users can provide their own value or use the value defined for that type of precinct:

As of the 2016.e version, CYPETHERM HVAC LOADS incorporates new data import assistants. This data is obtained from various documents of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
